Earplugs
If you want to buy good earplugs, Alpine is the place to go. We have specialised in hearing protection products for 30 years and offer the most comprehensive range of earplugs. Each type of earplug has its own specific properties:
Disposable earplugs
Disposable earplugs can be made of different materials. They include foam earplugs, rubber earplugs and wax earplugs (cotton balls soaked in vaseline/paraffin). Disposable earplugs are inexpensive but only suitable for single use.
Malleable earplugs
Malleable earplugs are balls made of silicone, for example, that you can knead into the right shape yourself before placing them in your ears. Like disposable earplugs, you can only use these inexpensive earplugs once.
Plugs
Plugs are the most commonly used hearing protection today. These universal earplugs provide good protection but prevent the feeling of being completely cut off from the outside world. Alpine invented the filter system for plugs that allows you to set the attenuation yourself. Our plugs are reusable about 100 times.
As an alternative to earplugs, you might consider earmuffs, which are available for babies, children and adults.

How do you choose the right earplugs?
Want to buy earplugs? When making your choice, you should always consider the following aspects:
Level of attenuation
Alpine earplugs are available with different attenuation levels, ranging from 10 dB to 28 dB. The MusicSafe and MusicSafe Pro earplugs come with 2 or 3 interchangeable filters, respectively, so you can tailor the attenuation to your situation. You can also order interchangeable filters for our custom-made earplugs.
Application(s)
Alpine has a suitable earplug for every conceivable application. For example, we can provide you with sleep earplugs, swimming earplugs, motorcycle earplugs and professional earplugs for musicians, among other activities.
Service life and comfort
Inexpensive earplugs, such as the SoftSilicone earplugs, are not reusable and are mainly suitable for occasional use. Our universal earplugs can be used about 100 times. Custom-made earplugs are the best choice in terms of service life. Exactly how long they last varies from person to person - ears are made of cartilage and that is variable - but on average they can last about 4 to 5 years. In addition, custom-made earplugs offer superior comfort.

Hearing damage can occur at sound levels starting from 80 dB. Volumes of 110 dB or higher can even cause immediate damage. You usually don’t notice it right away, because hearing damage is cumulative; the more frequently and longer you are exposed to high sound levels, the more your hearing is affected. By the time you notice hearing loss, it is already too late – hearing damage is irreversible. Wearing earplugs is the best way to protect your hearing. In addition, earplugs can prevent ear pain and infections from swimming and water sports. Flying earplugs prevent ear pain during flights, sleep earplugs contribute to a good night's sleep, and there are also earplugs that help create moments of relaxation.
